STEELWINGS GIVING BACK

GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY
Being a Steelwing is about more than the open road — it’s about the people we meet along the way and the communities we ride through. Steelwings believes in giving back, lending a helping hand and making a difference wherever we can. Through community initiatives, charitable efforts, fundraising and supporting those in need, our members come together to turn the spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood into action. Whether it’s putting smiles on faces, supporting a worthy cause or simply being there when someone needs a hand, we believe that the greatest rides are the ones that leave a positive mark long after the engines have stopped.

RIDE AGAINST FARM MURDERS AND RACISM - AUGUST 2021
On 29 August 2021, Steelwings joined fellow bikers in taking to the road for the Ride Against Farm Murders and Racism. The ride provided an opportunity for members of the biking community to stand together in solidarity against violent crime and racism, while calling for safer communities and greater respect for every life. For Steelwings, it was about using the strength of the biker community to raise awareness, stand united and make our voices heard — because brotherhood is not only about riding together, but also about standing together for what matters.

KZN FOOD DRIVE - JULY 2021
When devastating riots left communities across KwaZulu-Natal without access to essential food, an urgent call went out for assistance. Children and elderly people were among those left without basic supplies, and the need was immediate.
Steelwings and its members didn’t hesitate to step up. Together, we contributed more than R30,000 worth of food to the relief effort. But our support didn’t stop there.

Our Marshalls answered the call to support the bikers escorting the “One for the Road” food truck from Johannesburg to Harrismith, where they joined forces with a group of KZN bikers. Together, they escorted the truck safely into KwaZulu-Natal, helping ensure that the food reached the communities and organisations that needed it most.
The operation involved two major food deliveries —
the first carrying an incredible 22 tons of food, followed the next week by a further 34 tons.

For Steelwings, this was never just about the road. It was about brotherhood, community and taking action when people needed us most.  When the call went out, Steelwings answered.

SPCA FOOD DRIVE — COVID-19 SUPPORT - MAY 2020

When the COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges to communities across South Africa, Steelwings once again showed that the spirit of brotherhood extends far beyond the open road. In May 2020, our members came together to support an SPCA food drive, helping provide much-needed food and supplies during a time when resources were stretched and many organisations were struggling to meet the needs of those in their care. Through generosity, compassion and a willingness to help, Steelwings demonstrated that even when the world was facing uncertainty, we could still make a difference — one contribution, one act of kindness and one community at a time.
